I do like Reza - there is always one character you can attach to with some sympathy - otherwise such adept handling of people who are a mess (like most of us) and having us watch those people try to function in the world - she excels at it. This reminds me a bit of Rashomon - not told from 3 different perspectives but 3 shots at telling the same story - what do we learn each time, what is different, how do our reactions change? I really like this intelligent play (which is funny as well) especially that the most powerful character in the play is never seen. yes from me.
It is a well written script with an interesting concept. There are strong roles for all the actors. Personally, I dislike all the characters and as an audience member, have no desire to sit through this. No for me.
I liked the first scene very much. Funny, intelligent, fast-paced. Easy set and simple off-stage SFX. At the start of the second scene, I was looking forward to seeing the subtle differences but they never really happened. By the time the third scene came around, I was ready to stand up and stretch or just plain leave. I was not impressed. No for me.
Readable and doable. My question is - will audience members want to see this? My vote is no.
Oh dear. I wanted so much to enjoy this one when I started to read. But then I kept reading and found myself thinking, "Oh, it's got to get better once it gets going." But it just went on and on and never got better. I finally had to just stop reading. So, my vote is "no."
I saw this production a long time ago and really enjoyed it but hadn’t read it since. Reading it, I thought throughout the first part, “these characters don’t interest me much”. I still love the surprises of each subsequent re-telling with the shifts in the story but I would say no to this one personally.
I really enjoyed the comedy in the first scene and the relationship between Henri and Sonia. I was wanting to see the characters develop more as the story went on but it never came to fruition. As a audience member this play wouldn't keep my attention from start to finish.
