I liked it, but it would be VERY ambitious. I was heartened a bit by the author notes on wigs, clothes and sets. A major challenge.
I'm not sure what attracts me to this, but I like it. Marie Antoinette speaking in modern vernacular? But that is what ultimately humanizes her and allows us to relate to the almost absurd situation she finds herself in. I think the flow of time and place would be very doable in the arena.

Yes, please! I loved everything about this. I couldn't put it down. A good director could make this so moving, tense, and terrifyingly beautiful - thinking Lynn Musgrave. It is also funny and moves at a fantastic pace. It has a great lead role for a female and all the other parts provide a wonderful challenge for actors too. Plus, I think it will draw an audience. This is a story that folks are always looking for a new retelling of. Let's do it!
I loved it, but can see the challenges with the wigs and costume design. I loved the characters speaking in modern tense. Yes, yes yes!
I found this quite intriguing and compelling and could see it working very well in the arena. It is both funny and disturbing. I don't see a big issue with wigs/costumes; I think the playwright addressed that well in the notes. I say keep it on the list.
I found the script interesting. I don't love it as much as some do, but I think it is worth keeping in the mix.
A new play, that is a plus. Not only does Marie speak English, she speaks modern English to boot. Agreed, wigs and costumes do not have to be an extravaganza. Despite my concern that it needs to be really fast paced, my vote is Yes.
I love this play but saw the recent local production. I would say we need to wait at least three or four years before taking it on.
